Synopsis: My Ethnomathematics Poster design delves into the cultural dimensions of mathematics education, advocating for inclusivity within STE(A)M learning contexts.
Challenge: Designing a compelling poster for OMSI that critically examined an element of math education.
Approach: Extensive research into Ethnomathematics laid the foundation for my design approach, which aimed to synthesize artistic elements with mathematical principles in a culturally attuned manner. Leveraging Adobe Creative Suite tools after initial sketches, I translated research insights into this visually captivating poster design. Drawing inspiration from indigenous cultures, I integrated symbolic imagery and typography to illuminate the richness and diversity of mathematical thinking across the diaspora.
Solution: The ETHNOMATH poster, exhibited at OMSI, serves as a visual testament to cultural inclusivity in mathematics education, stimulating discourse on the imperative of diverse pedagogical approaches.
