Massive Attack — Immersive Social Campaign & Event Branding
Project Overview:
Designed a comprehensive social campaign and promotional kit for a Massive Attack concert event, encapsulating the band’s atmospheric, hypnotic, and politically charged aesthetic. The project spanned concept development, visual identity creation, and multi-platform execution, leveraging the band’s evocative soundscapes to create a cohesive visual narrativethat resonates across posters, social media carousels, and event branding.
Challenge:
Translate Massive Attack’s dark, cinematic sound into a visually compelling event campaign.
Maintain the band’s iconic, subversive identity while introducing a fresh, contemporary design approach.
Develop a unified visual system that can be effectively applied across multiple touchpoints, from concert posters to Instagram stories, without diluting the band’s distinct, layered aesthetic.
Approach:
Research & Concept Development: Conducted in-depth research on Massive Attack’s discography, visual legacy, and fan base to align the design strategy with their signature evocative and avant-garde style.
Visual Exploration: Created moodboards and visual references inspired by 90s glitch art, dark ambient aesthetics, and surrealist compositions to mirror the band’s haunting, layered soundscapes.
Design Execution:
Developed three distinct poster series to explore varying themes: Neon/Gradient, Minimalist/3D-Chrome, and Red/Glitch.
Constructed a cohesive Instagram feed layout, designed to simulate a scrolling visual journey that evolves from minimal monochrome to vibrant, glitch-heavy visuals, echoing the band’s evolution from darkwave to trip-hop.
Designed high-impact, monochromatic event branding assets to anchor the digital campaign, including a 3D-rendered logo lockup, typographic treatments, and motion graphics.
